Advertising Block - Annoying telephone marketing
Many customers complain about unwanted advertising - annoying cold calls are a particular nuisance. We have put together some information on how you can to about protecting yourself.
If you do not wish to receive advertising, you may choose to have your private listing flagged with an asterisk * free of charge in local.ch products. This advertising block flag (*) is binding for all advertisers! local.ch makes all addresses flagged with an asterisk (*) available to other providers of telephone directory products. However, local.ch assumes no liability for situations in which third parties disregard this advertising block, e.g. if private listings are illegally copied from local.ch products.
When you enter a competition, there is a chance that your address is collected and used for marketing purposes by the company running the competition. This also applies to personal information you provide as part of marketing promotions. Your address has valuable advertising potential and can be sold to third parties.
local.ch does not sell addresses for marketing purposes.
Robinson list
Please note: We would like to point out that addresses flagged for an advertising block (*) will not automatically be entered into the Swiss direct marketing association's "Robinson list". For an advertising block to take effect for address sales, please also request a listing in the "Robinson List for Addressed Advertising Material" and the "Robinson List for Direct Sales" (door-to-door sales).
Disregard for starred listings tackled in Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UWG)
For more information on changes to the Federal Act against Unfair Competition as of 1 April 2012, visit the SECO website (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs)
